Life has a way of bringing battles we never expected. Sometimes, before we recover from one struggle, another comes knocking, until all we can say is, “Lord, I don’t know what to do anymore.”
Through the story of King Jehoshaphat in 2 Chronicles 20:1–18, we are reminded that we were never meant to face every battle in our own strength. Whatever battle you are facing today, take heart and sound the alarm: pray. When you do not know what to do, fix your eyes on God. When God tells you to stand, hold the line.
“Do not be afraid! Don’t be discouraged by this mighty army, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.” (2 Chronicles 20:15, NLT)
Our winning place is in His presence, our winning position is on our knees, and our winning weapon is our worship. We are not fighting for victory; we are fighting from the victory Christ has already won.
